Aneurin Warburton has gone by the nickname "Nye" for as long as he can remember. When he was 11 he discovered Bloom County, a wonderfully absurd social commentary cartoon strip by Berkeley Breathed. He knew at that moment, he would devote his life to the pursuit of cartoons.
He has his BFA from the University of Pennsylvania and his MFA from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. His first job in the business of animation came when he was hired to composite on the MTV show Celebrity Death Match. He has since worked for Disney Imagineering, Sony Imageworks, Blur Studio, Electronic Arts, Fox Features and several others.
His graduate thesis film Magnetism won three awards and played in over 50 international kids and animation festivals around the world. In 2007, he directed and animated, for comedy central, the internet series Benny: Escaped Convict, which he co-wrote and co-produced with Ryan Levin.
In 2009, he co-wrote, co-produced, (again with Levin) directed and animated a 6 minute pitch to 20th Century Fox's Animation Inkubator development program.
Nye is currently developing more animated projects and working on a short film. He also takes the odd previz job now and again, designing action sequences for blockbuster movies, most recently X-Men Origins: Wolverine, The A-Team (Movie), Robosapien, The Tooth Fairy, and The Losers.
He lives on the west side of Los Angeles and still draws every day.
